Stage #1 Research
Learn how to take your ideas and put them into storyboards so that you can work through the look and feel of your bathroom in a structured manner without jumping all over the place. I will also touch on the best ways to store this info for future use.
Stage #2 Planning
Find out about the 3 different options you can choose from to get your plans drafted. In the training video I’ll walk you through each option in detail so you can make an informed decision about which one is best for you.
I’ll also show you how to put together a Job File Structure (with a downloadable template) that you can use throughout your entire renovation to store all your critical information such as plans, schedules, contractor prices and material cost.
Another thing you’ll learn is how to go about selecting and purchasing all your materials for the project. Here you can download our Finishes Schedule and store all your selections such as tiles, taps, toilet, vanity, baths, shower screen etc. in the one document.
Stage #3 Pre Construction
Here you will learn how to go about finding contractors for your project. I’ll walk you through the various websites you can use to help locate contractors, as well as discuss contracts and what you need to look out for when vetting a contractor.
I’ll also be teaching you how to create your own Construction Schedule or project timeline (with a downloadable template) to help manage the critical path of your project. This maps out the sequence in which each trade or task should be booked in to perform the work.
Stage #4 Construction
At this stage you’ll learn about the Site Establishment process and I’ll provide you with a site establishment checklist of things that need to occur in the days prior to construction taking place, i.e. protection of floors and walls in the house, skip or rubbish bins, disconnection of services for safety, neighbour notification letters, etc.
There are also some practical, real life examples of bathroom renovations for you to see. I’ll run through a few of the bathrooms that I have personally renovated and discuss some tips on what to look out for during the “Actual Construction”. This will give you some idea of what to expect when booking in your own contractors at each one of these critical stages.
Stage #5 Project Completion
Here we will discuss some final tips such as Variations, Defects liability periods and Warranties. We will also take a look at a few of our completed bathrooms and some final words of advice.
